New camera, new photos!
Shot with a Nikon P100 (not quite a full on DSLR), but seems to take great pictures!
My gear:
Nikon D300
Nikon D50
Tokina 12-24 f/4
Nikon 18-55 f/3.5-5.6
Nikon 18-200 VR f/3.5-5.6
Nikon 24 f/2.8 (manual focus)
Nikon 35 f/2
Nikon 50 f/1.8
Nikon 70-210 f/4-5.6
Nikon 70-300 f/4-5.6
Tokina 100 f/2 macro
Nikon 135 f/2.8 (manual focus)
Tokina 400 f/5.6 (manual focus)
Nikon SB600 flash
Manfrotto 190bx tripod with a 486RC2 head
I also have a Nikon FM2n and F100 for film stuff, which I rarely use any more.
About the only thing I wish I had was a higher quality normal zoom lens - the 18-200 is nice for its range, but sometimes the performance just isn't great. A friend was selling the nice 17-55 f/2.8 but even at $900 it was a bit too much for me. I'm thinking about either the 18-50 Tokina or Tamron.

This is a great thread! :)
Can anyone please help me identify this tripod?
I asked the user who posted it on dvxuser.com but still haven't heard back from him for a long time now. I hope someone here can identify it for me. Thanks in advance!

ok, im in search of our first DSLR camera. So far after ive done searching im down to two choices:
Nikon D3000 ($449) or Canon xs ($499)? thats just about the price range im looking for to spend on a camera. Which one would you guys recommend regarding the price comparison and features?
so far the only downfall about the nikon d3000 was that it doesn't have live view...i dont know much about photography yet so your help will be much appreciated!
