If you want a walk around lens, then 100mm macro would not be it. Currently, I walk around with the Sigma 30mm f1.4($459), but I think the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 would be an awesome walk around, but its $900+

The Sigma 24-70 f2.8 would be a good walkaround lens for around $550

I just found a great deal on a lens that will be amazing to use, but still need to find a walk around.

If I pick that up I will be looking for a decent walk around. It needs to be non ef-s since I do film and digital.

So I will keep shopping, but hope I get the 70-200 2.8L its the non IS, but still a beast of a lens

I'd rather have the knowledge and ability to do it than the money to buy it already done.

Is there a reason why you are only considering rebels? You can get a really good condition 40d possibly even 50d for the price of a t2i 10mp is enough for most photographers unless you are printing banners of your pictures

    http://www.amazon.com/Canon-60D-Digi...0153272&sr=1-6

There you go brand new for 999.00 with free shipping. I think that is worth the extra investment and you may find a better deal on a 50D, 60D ,1D Mark II or even 5D Mark I or 7D if you shop around. I would stick to those personally over a 450D or a 550D

I still use a 30D and have no reason yet to upgrade. Its the lenses I am upgrading right now not the camera.

50D with a nice beginner lens I would choose the 3rd used one with 45 feedback http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...condition=used

Just thought that I would share this, walmart is going to have a cannon rebel eos xs for $479 on black Friday. It comes with a camera bag as well. I don't know how good of a deal that is but it sounds pretty good to me. You can cheack the the price by searching black friday walmart sales on google.

x2 I bought my 40D as an upgrade from my Sony A200 and I have no regrets. If I had the money it would've been a 7D but the 40D suits me needs pretty well. It's a good camera to learn on. Prosumer grade but still user friendly

    will do.

seth, i picked the 60d over the 7d because of the price difference and size/weight. I wished the 7d was a full frame but it's not. The 5dmk2 is just way too much.

I almost just traded my 5d for a mk2 but couldnt really see me spending another 1k on it. So ill just get my 135L and be good

I have been looking for a good deal on a 40D, but nothing so far. I have been looking on Craigslist. Anyone else know of a good place to find a used one other then CL or Ebay? I want to get back into the DSLR game.
