Unforunately, that is the case most of the time. A good lens can cost more or just as much as the body.

Im wanting to get rid of my XT and pick up a used 20d now haha. But I am too poor.

20d has more features, its faster, better image processor, better AF sensor, and its a little bigger. My big man hands engulf the XT, I need something bigger ... or a battery grip.

Id really like a 40d, but they just came out and theres absolutely no way I could affod one unless I sold my laptop or something.

Just got my 50mm f/1.8II EF lens today. A lot sharper then my kit lens and some sweet bokeh. Going to get some nice pictures from it, I can tell already.

100% crop / handheld(no tripod at work). Not bad at all.

I just bought a Canon Digital Rebelt XT 8MP I have the stock lens and the75-300mm lens that came with the upgrade kit. I also have a Sunpak 266D flash that was previoulsy on an old school Canon SLR from the mid 90's. Its old but it gets the job done. I have only taken about 400 pics with the camera since I bought it two weeks ago, but overall im pretty happy with it.

Let me know how the Sunpacks work out, Ive always read that when it comes to flashes to just buy Canons. I probably am going to pick up a 430ex with tax returns.

I just bought a used Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG off eBay for $92 shipped, cant beat that. Hopefully I can get some good use out of it shooting outdoor motocross. Going to pick up an Opteka battery grip here this week too.

I really want the Sigma 18-200mm f/2.8, would make an awesome every day lens. I could then sell my kit lens and just rock the 18-200mm 90% of the time.

Shot some MMA last night with the 50mm 1.8

Nice pic seth. Ive heard nothing but good on the sunpacks. Right now im using them for for off camera shots. Once i get a house or apartment im building my studio. Im going for portraits now so rather buy the stuff now and learn before i get customers. Im shooting a local singer next month so hopefully that goes good. Im looking at the canon 70-200 f4 non is. the 2.8 is and f4 is is just way to much. I got 17-70 covered a good portrait lens in the 50mm 1.8 so i just need a wide and long. Which the 10-20 and 70-200 would cover. Just gotta wait for taxes to get back.

Yeah thats a good deal considering that lens goes for about $350. I had that camera, and while its a good entry level DSLR, you should be able to find the Rebel XT or the XTi with a kit lens for about $400-$550
