Whats your budget? What are you planning on shooting primarily? D40 is as entry level as it you can get for a DSLR. If I had to choose between a D40 or an XTi, Id choose the XTi. The XTi better compares to Nkon's D80.

Also the big downer with the D40 is that the auto focus is built into the lens and not the body, so if you want af, you have to have an af lens. With the XTi, auto focus is built into the body itself. That right there would sell me on the XTi over the D40.

Got my rented 70-200mm f/2.8L and 24-70mm f/2.8L in the mail today! Top notch quality, didnt realize my stuff was so crappy till these two bad boys came in. Stoked for the motocross this weekend with the 70-200mm and the MMA fights the weekend after with the 24-70mm! Hope I make some good money :)

Two from tonights AMA supercross. Unsharpened, just exported from Lightroom with 'General Punch' filter.

Both at 200mm, ISO800, 1/1000sec, and f/2.8 handheld. This bad boy rocks.

Also thought this one was cool. Used the 'aged photo' filter. Caught somebodys flash going off, looks kinda cool.

Going through the rest of the photos now. Got a few pretty sweet wreck sequences too haha.

Nice, but remember to change the color space from Adobe RGB to sRGB with you upload them.
