    suspension mod

so i stopped by my local salvage yard yesterday with a shopping list of things to look for... 4g63t out of a 90-91 t/e/l to rebuild as a project, suspension parts off 2g t/e/l for the rear disk break mod, etc. only thing i could find worthwhile was the suspension parts to do the disk brake conversion on rear. the owner tells me $200 for all the parts that i need. i was just wondering if this seemed steep to anyone? but then again, for $200, i could probably tear the whole ass end off this eclipse and he'd say nothing about it. :?
and on a side note... 40 some junked cars of which i see 5 that would be good for the engine rebuild, 4g63 out of 90- early 92 and dam if someone didn't hack the shit out of the blocks of every one of them just to get the heads and turbo units. i swear it looked like someone took a sledgehammer to all of them!

    Why would he want a 2g 4g63t?

$200 isnt bad, but its not cheap. Id hope he would give you the entire rear suspension, rear knuckles complete with hub, rotor, and calipers. And I woul snag the sway bar, links, and lower control arms too for that price.
    7g for life!

why is it better for a 2G........ it's not, 2G's have 7 bolt cranck walk POS

1G turbo has the oober nice 6 bolt, that just about every 63T swapped galant has. no cranck walk worries.

thats the project i'm working on right now with my cuz

ohhh, and first gen eclipses have bigger turbos

yesturday, i had some spare time, so i'm thinking i'll change all the fluids & filters on mitsy. usually i would just let jiffy lube do it but i figured it has been a while, so i probably should give the car a good "once over inspection". i went to the mitsubishi dealer close to my house to get the atf fluid and replacement plug washers, etc. quess what... they won't sell atf fluid, and just out of curiosity i ask about other things for my fluid change like the atf filter... and they don't even have it in stock! so something that should have taken maybe an hour to do turns out to be a 2 hour drive-and-find for atf sp fluid.
as far as the rear disk mod... yea, he told me he has had other people do the same kind of mod, and for $200 i could take everything that i would need (including the e brake), but i would have to pull it all. he said he was cutting me a break?? so i'm thinking that he's giving me the go ahead to tear off the whole rear end of this thing!?
as for the motor... yea i'm looking for the 6 bolt, unless someone can give me ideas on a better engine to swap into 7g galant. any ideas would be gladly appreciated. i just figured i might as well go "balls out" and biuld this thing as hard core as i can if i am going to keep it.
