A trip to the Junkyard with Secto1

Alright so I had been tipped off to a junkyard by Secto1 aka Mike in Galants.org. We went there this morning and what we found blew me away! SIX 8gen Galants sitting there, untouched. One Diamante. 3 Hyundai Sonatas WITH the DOHC engines!!! I was going crazy! We had found also 3-4 Eclipses 3gens and a plethora of 2g's, Avengers, Sebring 2 doors, Stratus 2 door, and a fully equipped GTZ!

    6G74 3.5l from Diamante

Kia DOHC with full 4g64 2.4l Bottom end

I'll be picking up a Kia engine within 2 weeks and now I need to see if there is a 3g with shifter cables and pedals that way I can start my 5-speed swap and get it over with in a weekend.

Damn I need to find one like that in Maryland. Most pick and pulls here have every DSM ripped to all hell. Haven't found a 5 speed 7G yet either =/ .

Man, I need to move to FL, it's a PITA to find parts here. Do you know how are the prices? I could use a Diamante TB... or the whole engine

Yeah I'm going back there next week to see what else I can dig up. There are a couple of Galants there with the waterfall grille. I also got tweeter pods and galants letters for the side. I'm going to see if I can get stuff for peeps here so let me know if you want anything, like grilles and radio bezels and such. I have found a stickshift in a 2g Eclipse Ron, so let me know. I was trying to see if I could get 3rd Gen Eclipse RS/GS in there with stick and some pedals but I couldn't find anything I have to look again.

Let me know guys, PM me and I could get you some parts for dirt cheap :)

Thats a pretty nice salvage yard. Though...I am kinda curious if its a pick and pull yourself type of junkyard? If so...how do you go about getting parts off the cars on the 2nd and 3rd racks? :?

There's guys riding around in forklifts and they bring the car down to the ground for you. They you just pull what you want and that's it, they gring it back up

Underated I didn't see any on the one that I took a picture and the other ones I am not too sure. My day off is next Thursday so I'm going to go there and take some more pics and check some more things out aswell as get some parts.

    sounds good

if your going to get the sonata head dont get the block its useless for our cars the bolt holes for the transmission are in the wrong spots

also dont get the sonata throttle body it wont work with our car

you can get the intake manifold but im not sure if it fit under our hoods yet the eclipse guys say it doesnt fit under their's because of the space between the engine and the fire wall but we have more room so nobody knows yet...

other then that have at it lol i was just trying to save you some money

Ron, YoungFab59 and I are going around 1pm-ish. We could meet up someplace I'll have to call him up and ask where to meet up at, might be at Towers since it's close and you already know how to get there. Let me know if the time is right.
