hey all i no im still a noob on this site, but ive owned an 8g since 2000. ive pieced together a list of performance parts that noobs can use on the 4g64 engine. ill just name the companys i no of that manufacture the part. im sure theres lists here on this site to find all of these, but i like a list that just says "ok this fits" lol. i guess first ill start with where to find all your OEM parts first :shock:

INTAKE MANIFOLD: RPW Performer Intake Manifold for 4g64 or 6g72(careful with this item as it may not have the EGR on it, but they can machine one onto it for u).. Tearstone carries the RPW Performer IM for the 6g72 motor. Rippmods had a prototype they were working on for the 8g but scrapped that project i think. an IM from a 2003 mitsubishi outlander can be swapped along with its throttle body to our engine as well. (thanks Run1206 and Sleepervr-4)

THROTTLE BODY: RPW has one u can get or exchange for a bore on ur stock one, couple other cars in the mitsu lineup have TB's that can also be swapped. check threads on this one but like i said this is just bolt up an go parts lol

CYLINDER HEAD INTERNALS: RPW camshaft, RPW valve Springs, 4G63 EZ on ebay makes 'SS' swirl finished valves u can buy at a good price. plus they sell bronze guides and viton blue valve seals u can use for the 4g64. many others for valves but the sky can be the limit.

OPTIMA BATTERIES: Red Top ( use size D75-25 ). Yellow Top deep cycle ( use size D34-78 ). you can also use the Yellow Top deep cycle D75-25 as well although it has slightly lesser cold cranking amps than the D34-78 but the D75-25 has the top posts in easy areas for mounting the positive an negative wires.

ALTERNATORS HI-AMP (for stereos): i only really no of 3, ohiogen.com, i believe u can order one for a dodge stratus (01-05) from powermaster or there is a guy who specially makes them i can recommend that i found on this website named Dominick Iraggi. word of pre-caution, hi-amp alternators for our cars are super expensive, they run from 400-800 bucks from what ive seen. what u can also do is take your stock alternator to an electrical shop an have them respin it. thats the most cost effective. our stock alternators spin at 90 AMPS. i was quoted $250 to respin my alternator at 140 AMPS an they will attach a smaller pulley so it spins faster at idle.

EXHAUST HEADERS/ CAT BACKS: BE CAREFUL as the 8G has 2 different exhausts specs, Cali Spec an Fed Spec. (cali spec is 2 cats with a small pre-cat up front an a regular cat underneath the car... the fed spec is 1 cat). i put ebay on here for the Megan cat back and OBX header, if u go to ebay for these items, type in "galant drift spec" (should be a few available at $330 +shipping) and "galant obx header" ...other headers to be found are...

FUEL PUMP: Walbro GSS342 255 LPH (in-tank). will have to do a minor modification on it to be a direct drop in. ill attach that thread to this.

PULLEYS: AEM (alt. pulley an water pump).. ive searched on this an u can buy pulleys for a 2g eclipse 4g63 an they will bolt up to our motors. just be wary of the crank pulley as it has a harmonic dampener built in. Buschur Racing has a crank pulley with it built into theres. Obx and Unorthodox Racing are the only companies i no of who have FULL SETS of pulleys for the engine with P/S, Crank, Alt, Water pump included.

BRAKES: Rotora, HP Racing, K-sport, Powerslot, can swap the evo calipers & rotors on both front an back but F that, i think its pointless to do that when u can run into clearance issues from rim to caliper. For the stock rear drums on our cars u can convert them to disc as well, very easy to do with minor modification. ive got a thread from Run1206 on how he did his conversion. his is the most detailed, w/pics as well, so ill post it on here.

TRANSMISSION: Rezlo Torque Convertor sold by Tearstone, Level Ten makes a 'bullet proofing' kit as well as doing tranny fabrication work or u can swap the auto (F4A22) for an 00-04 Eclipse (NVT350) 5-Speed. TURBO KITS: Dougs Dyno Power has one, some people liked it, some didnt. friend of mine in Maryland has one an it dynoed at 256 HP to the wheels on 11 PSI. RPW now manufactures a kit for the 6G72/74 motors as well. Max-Rev motorsports has a 4g64 turbo kit as well with a V6 kit planned, (order as 00-04 eclipse). Turbo Specialties carrys a kit for the 6g72 motor as well. u can also do ur own custom set up, some guys on this site have swapped EVO parts to our engine an gotten a substantial bang for there buck. Goosey2099 has done a swap like this an has a parts list an pics to backup his work. his swap was prolly the most cost effective as well. ill post that thread on here also.

SUPERCHARGERS: Rippmods has kits for the 6g72 motor. Most people who've bought the kit from them say 1 thing in common, get it an upgrade the fuel system an dont use the black box they provide u with. most people have said switch to the greddy e-manage ultimate, walbro fuel pump an big injectors.

NEW PRE-MOLDED CARPET: this one is out of place but ive been asked about this one before where or if they make a replacement fully pre-molded carpet for the 8g.. yep they do. theres a couple places ive found. u can go to auto-interior.com or go on ebay. ive posted the link to the ebay store that sells pre-molded carpet for our cars.

CARBON MIRRORS : can use any 94-97 mirrors from a honda accord though the black plate will need modifying as well as wiring, ganador mirrors from a mitsu legnum (must alter wiring and its from a UK website, although i do believe they accept american money) or VIS now has carbon fiber (special order) or fiberglass 'ganador style' mirrors. if u go ebay for the honda mirrors, type in "accord carbon mirror".

CARBON GEAR SHIFTER / E-BRAKE KNOB: can buy a universal off ebay (simple way out) an then trim the plastic stick underneath the stock knob. u will also need to trim the vinyl on the stock ebrake if u use a universal. Levoc makes a few although not certain on there fitment. if u go ebay type in "carbon automatic shift knob". for the e-brake type in "carbon e brake".

CARBON GAS DOOR: ebay from time to time has one for the car that is true carbon fiber an the seller is a place called KarbonKoncepts. when u go on ebay u can simply type in "galant gas door". this link i put on here is for karbonkoncepts actual store, i figure if u try to find the door by typing it in an nothing happens, u can email karbonkoncepts.

ya i read some of the threads here on parts lists, i wanted a place u could just ok this fits, those threads were scattered, i wanted to make something concrete. as far as places to buy from, this is the internet. i could list 1000 websites an someone will say i found it cheaper here or there. i figured id just put the part companys an people could find the right pricing on there own. but ya ur way was a possiblity to. ah well like i said IM A NOOB ON THIS SITE LOL :mrgreen:

Trevs56: don't forget to include that the Intake Manifold from the Mitsubishi Outlander can be swapped with our stock IMs. Sleepervr-4 and I have done the swap (better throttle response and slightly bigger TB). photobucket's going through maintenence for now, but i'll post a pic of my setup when PB's back up.

ya my bad dude, like i said i was just posting my direct knowledge. ill continue to add on stuff i find. and/or edit anything ive made a mistake on. they locked my add on my 8g for sale. i no longer live in america but im gonna try to build a galant over here in norway. but ill continue to post stuff i find on this list. ill edit that intake manifold thingy right now.
