    Rear Strut assem. problem.

OK i took the rear strut assembly off my car and compressed the springs and start backing the top nut off and got to the top and couldn't get it off b/c the shaft in the middle that you use to back the nut off is to close to the nut . How in the world do I get this off???!!!!!!!!

i had the same problem the first time i did my rears... all you have to do it get a pair of vice grips... washcloth or other clean rag... preferably something with some thickness so not to damage shaft... use vicegrips to bite down in middle of shaft so you can keep it from turning as you finish un-doing the nut...

    easy...

hey evolution, i tried exactly what your tlaking about with the rag and i sitll coulnd't get it. I think in the morning i will just take the two rear strut assemblies to a shop and tell them to swap the springs.
