Yes they will, because 2g 7 bolt rods are the same thing as EVO rods...EXCEPT.... some of the eagle rods that have been on the shelf for a while still use the old 1g bearing. When you open the box, it says to use a 1g bearing in the 2g rod. FUCK THAT. Your rods should be made to take the correct bearings, thats why I say to specifically order EVO rods, because the newer 7 bolt rods take the correct size bearing.

What? :? What rods have you ever seen come with rod bearings installed??? What is a piston head??? Dude, stay away from your engine block. Let somebody else build it for you. I'm serious.

I hate to say it but...

    +1 to the above....

we arent trying to discourage your build, but more so save you from the waste of time, money and aggravation of doing it yourself. Dude, I am pretty good mechanically and I wouldnt think of assembling my own shortblock. The main reason isnt so much of lack of skill, but more so lack of specific engine building experience like knowing to do if this part is too loose, or if that part is too tight and having the correct tools and machines to measure and fit everything. You wont spend much, if you buy the parts a decent machine shop charges like $700 to do all the machine work and shortblock assembly.

i call it a piston head behind its head head.. the dam round thing on top of the rods lol, i never heard of bearing on engine rods lol, you where saying about bearing, i have no idea witch bearing your talking bout theres like 50 differnt ones in a engine, so i was guessing i dont know much about 4g63 engines and bluiding engines that have like differnt engine parts in it, if it was all stock id just rebuild it all stock parts like stock rods and pistons, but im not so its more confusing for me, becasue now im changing parts as in 4g63 rods in a 4g64 block and yes i know they are the same, im writing all the info down by the way, and im not taking it to a shop to build it only to do michine work, i dont trust them people

I'm seriously confused... I'd definitely trust the machine shop if I were you. They obviously have a lot more experience building engines that you do, no offense.

yeah i know, but still cost more moeny then i want to spend, i was jsut asking when i get the 4g63 rods, i still have to stick with the 4g64 pistons like 4g64 cp pistons, not like evo pistons or could i witch i doubt, just making sure

oh yeah up there stewi said rod bearing, i really dont know what a rod bearing is all i can think of is a bearing on a rod lol

so if i get 2g 4g63 rods, i gotta make sure its 2g bearing? and not 1g

Dude, you've already had this answered IN THIS THREAD. If you are still this confused you DEFINITELY should not be attempting to build a motor on your own. Plus what is the point of saving money just to do a shitty job of installing everything and then have it break on you because you did not know how to do it right. Pay the money and have it done right the first time!!!!

so if i ask RRE for 4g64 block with evo head pistons, i ask for umm like 9.6:1, becuase isnt that the stock compression on our blocks? then the swap with the kia head will bring it down to like 8.5:1? for boost, due to the chamber is bigger

in theory yes, but you dont know how much has to be shaved off the block or the head to give you perfectly flat gasket surfaces, so you really dont know what your final compression will be. Thats why im saying, you need to let the machine shop do the machine work and measuring first, before you even entertain the idea of ordering pistons or bearings.

Are you familiar with skate boarding? Ever seen it on TV they have a half pipe?

Think of bearings as half pipes, one on top, one on bottom of each other. They go between the rod and the crank and have oiling holes. The bearing rides on a film of oil between the bearing and the crank journal. This is how engines work, the crank has similar bearings that go between the crank journals and the main cradle. Please research this. They arent like ball bearings like most people would think.

    Check out www.howstuffworks.com

there is a bunch of good info on there.

yeah thanks i know aobut the machine shop, i know i aint shaving the top to get it perfect, but im gonna built the engine itself at my house, so im just esamating the compression shaved off and a gasket would brign it to abotu the same as it were without a gasket but not that bad, lol i looked them rod bearings, they are like bearings without the rollers, just like umm cumbustion chamber sleeves, yeah i know what your talking about now, when i get umm my crank worked on im gonan ahve to get a perfect set to fit the rods, im guessing im gonna have to buy from the machine shop, sorry for the misspellings im running like for work
