    New Wheels!!!

Well Christmas is here once again and my hopes this year are to get a nice shiny new set of wheels, now Im still having a hard time of deciding whether to get 17's or 18's. Now from what Ive heard 17's are good for performance and thats what Im looking for, and Im planning on lowering the car but I dont want to have to drop it all the way to get the wheels to fit in the wheel wells. But if I get 18's will they be any good performance wise, and I fully understand that its a galant and not a ferrari. My thought is that with the 18's I wont have to drop the car as much.
    I was thinking of these.....

    Wheel #2 looks the best.

Go with 18s you will be much happier.

    What is your budget?

I would say go with 18's for sure and spend the bit of extra money and get the Enkei's!

I say 18's, Choice #1 or #2. Looks better w/ 18's, just find some that are somewhat lightweight.

the enkeis are dope but i like the sportmax wheels better....lol sportmax makes desent wheels man. they are cheap as hell and look alright. people hate on them all the time and say they are shitty quality but i know a few people who been rockin them for a couple years and they still look maad nice. if i could go back i wouldve bought some less expensive wheels. you dont have to spend 2 grande + to get a decent looking set of wheels that will hold up under shitty conditions. i bought a set of 18 tsw slots for $2000 like 3 years ago, and dont get me wrong, i still love them and spending that extra money was definatly worth it, but i see some nice looking wheels all the time that are waay cheaper. if you arent getting chrome wheels than going with a less expensive wheel isnt such a bad idea. the finish will probly hold up just as good as some of the more expensive wheels. if you are leaning twards chrome, then you dont want to pinch pennies. a cheap chrome wheel will loose its luster and the quality of its finish much faster than a more reputable expensive brand. strength wise, thats a difrent story.....some of the less expensive wheels are made with a softer alloy wich can result in warping or even worse cracking. enkei has really great quality wheels at affordable prices. i just happen to dig those sportmax wheels you posted. volks, ssw, work, those are some expensive ass wheels but man,i always say you get what you pay for.

I like wheel #1 and #2 just depends on what color car you have and what type of look you want. sportier go gunmetal and 17's More Vip look go hyperblack/silver and 18s.
Ikorty got black motegi's and in 18 on his 03 and it looks sick So its totally what you want for looks.

i was in the same position. didnt know whether to get 17 or 18....eventually I went 18 and hyperblack cause everyone has black and most times 17s because they will wear them year round. I found some all season tires for my 18s and I am putting them on in a few days. but performance wise I like the feel of 18s its a little rougher ride since you are rolling on less rubber and it has less of a sidewall so when you are on the highway and such expect some vibration.....especially if you are lowering your car....springs are softer that coilovers so try and decide if you want to go coilovers or springs first.

The Flik Artics were my choice many moons ago when I was wheel shopping. I still think they would look alot better on my silver G but the Absolutes have grown on me. 8)
