i just cut the wires because i could not get it out either. more than likely you will not be using the knob so just cut the wires and wire them up to your new knob. or do what i did because my knob did not have the button, i wired it to a pushbutton in front of the knob
    7g for life!

okay i wired it to switch but the overdrive is oposite for some reason. i think i switched the wires or something because when the light that says overdrive off is on, my overdrive is on and when the light is gone my overdrive is my overdrive is off and only goes to umm 3 gears. i wanted to switch it one of these days but i just wanted to make sure if that is the problem cuz i didnt want any sparks flying n stuff when i turn on my car...
    uhhhh...... Whats a 9g???
