    2.4l dohc N/A build

    i finally got my engine back in the car after rewelding my converter housing so i though i would share it with you guys lol

    heres how it looks as of yesterday, i'm working on the wire tuck and itb's right now... wire tuck should be done next week with time permitting. the fuse box has been relocated already and most of that rats nest of wires has been sorted i hate that mitsu had to twist and intertwine all the wires and there is no connector between the ecu and the engine bay so i have to depin most of the connectors.... this is much harder to do then the hondas i've done before

    i'll update as things progress.


    here is whats done to it: Some things will change between now and when when she starts up

    Block:
    88mm bore
    11.5:1 Wiseco forged pistons spec'd for a 4g64 with 4g63 head
    Eagle forged rods
    Clevite 77 rod & main bearings
    Arp rod bolts
    Arp main studs
    Arp Head studs
    Balance shaft delete using oem mitsu hardware
    knife edged, lightened, balanced crank

    Head:
    03 Hyundai sonata DOHC swap
    competition mulit-angle valve job
    Supertech intake valves +1mm nitrate coated
    Supertech exhaust valves +1mm nitrate coated
    Supertech dual valve springs
    Supertech Titanium retainers
    JAM Bronze valve guides
    Blox 272/272 camchafts
    Prostreet adjustable camgears
    match intake & exhaust ports to gasket and then some
    exhaust ports polished

    Fuel:
    98 Gsx 450cc injectors w/ resistor pack
    01 Galant OEM fuel rail
    01 Galant OEM fuel pressure regulator
    Walbro 190lph fuel pump

    Exhaust:
    CMF 4-1 stainless steel long tube header
    Magnaflow 2.5" high flow catalytic converter
    Magnaflow 18" resonator
    Vibrant performance 2.5" flat black street muffler
    2.5" mandrel bent piping

    Intake:
    03 Hyundai sonata intake manifold
    04 evo8 throttle body
    Custom 3" short ram intake
    01 galant OEM maf
    3" generic intake filter

    Freakin' awesome Brandon. Glad you're building an ITB setup... That Evo one is only designed to flow well under 15+ PSI of compressed air

    It's nice to see that Utah's not the only place building N/A 8G's. 8)

    yah i really wanna see how the 6g74 does in n/a form boost's earlier vids were sweet and that was just with bolt ons lol

    once i get this thing running it should be interesting lol

    ey i was gonna send you a pm but i figure i can ask you here too since it goes with my build... when you deleted the p/s do you still have that picture of how you looped it? i didnt get a chance to save it before the board went down

    It definitely made low-speed steering easier. The next steep would be to install a "breather" in that loop.

    cool thanks cuz im going to get rid of mine... what kind of breather are you going to use i dont think ive seen one before, i always just see people loop the line

    would this work for me since my rack leaks?!?

    i havent had power steering in forever, would it help?

    looping the p/s would eliminate the reservoir and the pump if your leaking from the actual steering rack i dont think it would help the leak... but i would eliminate a little bit of weight

    yeah well its been empty for months lol, if i eliminate the pump, would it soften up the steering? or would it not make a difference? my pump is still going even tho its empty

    If the pump isn't moving any fluid around, then it's not going to help any. I looped mine because it was just pushing fluid through the disconnected pump before.

    ^^ how are you gonna be NA, didn't you just pick up all the turbo parts to replace your S/C

    Id be curious to see gains with the ITBs. Going to dyno it with the stock plenum, then with ITBs?

    Hmm, me next. I think it'll be 210-220hp with 101 race gas
