but yea, the discussion for what's the best motor oil can go on for days and days.
pick your favorite brand, get the correct viscosity and make sure that it meets those certifications.
i prefer amsoil btw.
mobil1 is my #2 oil. never had it in my 8g's motor though.

I use Mobil1 full synthetic on my 02 and Castol GTX in my 99 daily G.
Castrol GTX Full Synthetic!!
#1 Amsoil
#2 Mobil 1
#3 Kendall GT1 Synthetic blend.
The Amsoil normally goes into any turbo car or non turbo car. Mobil 1 in Non turbo cars and Kendall GT1 20W50 in my Turbo Galant.

what about put a bottle of "lucas" after oil changing
lucas helps only if you're using conventional, no need for lucas if you use synthetic blend or syntheticOriginally Posted by galantino_es

As long as it's wet and needs to be in a car I go for a bottle of Havoline. In this case, Havoline Synthetic.

Lucas Oil "Stabilizer" is pure snake oil: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm.
No standard synthetic oil you buy in the US is synthetic any way. The only Mobil 1 oil that is synthetic any more is 0W-40, and only because it is BMW LL certified, which requires the oil to be a real synthetic oil (Group IV base oil). Other exceptions are AMSOIL, Royal Purple, and Red Line.
So because some tool builds a box with gears it destroys Lucas' product? I have used Lucas products and my uncle, a mechanic, recommends them (and no he doesnt sell them). Now I haven't used their stabilizer, but the trans additive is very good. So I could be wrong, but it is in my opinion a reputable and product.
Ummm, some "tool?" This guy has the reputation of being one of the best 3rd party experts on oil...
His experiment is a hell of a lot more scientific than the advice of your mechanic uncle... This is just one product Lucas makes that's probably not worth your money. If you understand at all how an engine works, you would get what Bob is trying to say.
I would rather deficate in the valve cover than put pennzoil in my engine. Their version of anti-wear and film strength is a wax that builds up on engine internals, ask me how I know.
Warm, RP isnt a true synthetic oil anymore either. At least the stuff they carry in parts stores. Their all out racing oil is, but its double the price.
Even thought most "Synthetic" oils arent made from a synthetic base, does not mean that they are the same as the conventionals. They are definatly worth the extra money as they have extra additives and ph neutralizers that conventionals do not.
