Hey did you DOHCstunr remember what pins you need to swap/splice? I am working on trying to get the wiring situated and so far matching up the pins I only have about maybe a little over 25 pins that are matching up and for this car I am trying to have the luxury of having all my accessories.

Ok so I currently have most of the ecu pinout wiring figured out. Now there are still a few that are missing and need help with its completion.

    1. Oxygen Sensor - Pin 4 (Should I be using Pin 35 or 56?)
    2. MPI Control Relay - Pin 56, 63 and 66 (There are 3 of them on a 1g dsm and only 1(pin38) on a 7g so do I connect the 3 comming from the dsm ecu to pin 38 from the 7g?)
    3. ABS Control Unit
    4. Fuel Pressure Control Valve - Pin 57 (What pin on the 7ga harness?)
    5. Ign Pulse sigal/Tach - Pin 109 (What pin on the 7ga harness?)
    6. MAF Sensor power supply 5v - Pin 23 (What pin on the 7ga harness?)
    7. Sensors Ground -5v - Pin 17 and 24 (What pin on the 7g harness has a -5v ground for MAF)

    MISC:
Knock Sensor - Pin 9 (will be wired directly to ECU)
Power Transistor 1/4 and 2/3 - Pin 54 and 55 (Wired from 1g dsm coil pack?)
    TDC/CAS Sensor - Pin 21 and 22 (Connected from 1g CAS)

Here is the link to the file.

No I will be cutting the 1g harness and soldering them to the 7g harness but I still need to know the pinouts of a few that dont already have. I couldn't find much information about using the 1g ecu off this board. All I found was everybody was jumping on the 2g ecu because its "better" for tuning ...

i don't think the 2g ecu is better for tuning.

    thats why i went obd1

its nice to be able to read knock, and duty cycle.

basically, label everything perfectly. and if the 1g ecu doesn't use it. then don't worry about it.

the only thing you'll have to do is add the wires for the knock sensor, and maybe a couple other simple things. and then you'll have to get a temperature activated switch, install it in the thermostat housing, and run a ground wire from the radiator fan high relay. so that when the probe gets to the switching temperature. it closes the circuit and triggers the fan relay to run until the switch is cooled off.

thats what i did, its simple, and it works flawlessly

How did you wire up the fan controle? The 7g runs the rad fans through a relay. If anyone is interested i can post a pinout to run a 2g ecu of a gs harness.

please do so or pm me it, i'm going through it now

would this be better then cutting a harness?

  13. #33
No that won't do anything for you. The 7g pinouts are different than the 2g pinouts and you need to change the pins in order to change ecu's. You might be able to get boomslang or someone to make you a custom conversion harness but it won't be worth the effort and price to do that.
