    Nasty shock problem

    hey you guys
    so i have a wierd problem with my G. whenever i get out of the car it gives me a nasty shock! what could be the source of this problem??

    5-speed 6G72 w/ bolt-ons [sold]
    '93 Nissan 240sx vert

    i dont know, im in florida and its pretty humid here, but i still get a good shock if i grab the a pillar to get out.

    i used to get shocked in my 7G but it was do to where my amp and cap were grounded. after i changed the grounding to somewhere else it has never happend since

    I think weather plays a part in it too. Mine only shocks me when it's cold out. During the summer, I don't have that problem...

    it doesn't matter where it is grounded because it is always going to be grounded to the chasis in one way shape or form.

    there is a screw in the pocket of the door. i usually touch that as i get out of the car.

    put a drop of paint or something else thats not conductive on the head of the screw. problem solved

    why would i do that? it grounds me as i generate the static electricity. or in other words, i don't get shocked.

    Back in the days people use to drive with a piece of string or some shit hanging out of their doors, but any other person would just ground themselves when getting out of the car. Do not try this while at the pump tho or you might be in for a rude surprise :twisted:
