Well today, runny nose, 102 fever and body aching, decided to go ahead and finish the interior. Got the pedals in, shifter with links, dash board.

I want those pedals :D Looks great with the two tone interior ;)

    good progress dude.

did you get the shifter cables through the firewall yet? or did you just prop the console for pics?

if you did get the cables through the firewall, how hard was it?

I did get them thru the firewall. That is the reason I took it apart in the first place. Goosey cut and drilled out the left bolt on the firewall bracket but I wanted to use both bolts. It's a pain in the ass but it eliminates any issues with those links.

It was a PITA, it was easy to get the right bolt with a really long extension but no way in hell to get the left one. I removed as you saw the dash, pulled that box thords me and up, enough to do the same thing with the long extension.

  8. #108
damn, did you try using two extensions? lol.

so I have to take the dash apart?? should be easy enough right?

Well I'm used to it because I've had to pull the entire dash on my daily couple of times but it can be a project for someone that has never done it. It can be done, yes! Just remember where everything you remove goes. You also loose the AC if you do it my way, because you have to disconnect it from the firewall to be able to pull the box thords you and up, I didn't care because I removed everything related to AC anyway. You also have to loosen or pull the heater core hoses brackets back to allow it to move freely. Trust me, I didn't take pictures of everything that's involved but it's a lot harder then the pictures show.

It's not that the extension was not long enough, that box seats really low and you cant get a socket on it at any angle. Very small space under there dude! You can barely fit a wrench on that bolt but thats about it, cant turn it.

Looks good. I thought about going with a set of aftermarket pedals to allow me to heal toe, but since my foot doesnt work right due to torn legamints that never healed, I can only sidestep to rev match, which works really well for me.

Well you can get a transmission with 70,000 to 100,000 for half what I paid but I wanted a fairly newer or low miles one.

  17. #117
