the only non-ricer exhaust is stock. (besides fi'd cars)
and i doubt the performance difference will be noticeable.
unless you do what that one guy said and run a separate exhaust from the banks or w/e.
if you put a "Y" pipe on there, there will be no build up of pressure, no loss of performance, and no loss of smooth flow.
true dual will obviously be your best dual exhaust, but doing a dual with a "Y" or "X" pipe, won't hamper anything.

It seems that there may be more power from true dual b/c of better flow but since the backpressure has decreased the low end torque may be lower but high end would be higher.

No, a larger diameter pipe has more capacity to carry volume, again, I've seen turbo big block cars run in upwards of 5" single exhaust. When they make 2500 hp off a single, I dont see any reason for duals, aside from looks.

Okay, let's end this now. No, increasing flow will never decrease top end power unless you fuck up the scavenging effect of your headers.
Having two pipes after a certain point where there used to be 1 pipe will only increase top-end power (unless the combined flow of the two pipes is less than the original).
no kidding... but it still is a dual Y setup w/ dual mufflers, like what we are talking about. piping is 2.75" downpipe to resonator section then split to 2.5" dual sections w/ turbine mufflers (no internal packing) then to cast aluminum dual tip section. power feels no different than when I was running straight pipe 2.75" to thermal race muffler w/ 5" tip single... the new setup is just way quieter. the biggest flow gains actually came from removing the precats on th CA spec, the main cat flows pretty well although it was removed by the downpipe also.
found a better pic of the piping:
notice how tight they kept the piping to the spare tire well and that Y piping goes above the rear cross member for ground clearance. piping was done by a race shop that builds headers and cost about $300 for install and custom fabrication.
i love the exhaust on REELAX's Car its crazy hot and unique like RAZ said!
That piping looks amazing, you really dont fuck around do you.

well like I said, it was a race shop that specializes in making custom headers. it's all mandrel bent and very tight to the car... $300 for piping is expensive, but the job they did was excellent, especially the Y section that starts way before the rear crossmember (not visible in the pic) for flow. u can really see the difference compared to the other duals in this thread.
that dual is sick in the center
reelax is that really yours?
thanks. I wanted to do domething nobody else could copy easily. the tips and rear valence (cut then molded to rare JDM super vr4 rear lips and stock bumper) are discontinued and hence super rare (SLP 35th anniversary camaro SS limited edition)... to copy what I did would cost around $1300+ if u could even find the parts. it's sleeping in my garage right now.
