    6-3/4 or 6x9?

When I got my 2nd Galant back in august, I noticed the stock speakers sounded better than the ones in my old 2001. Sounded like it had the infinity system but it didn't. Anyways to my question, what should i use? crutchfield says that i can use 6-3/4 in the rear deck with included speaker brackets, or i could buy 6x9's but those are pricey. Also, which provides more bass? 6x9's or 6-3/4's?

I have 6x9 4-ways in the back. Always thought they did well for rear speakers.

Best of the Best, but it won't fit w/o spacers due to the big magnet.

most 6x9's will fit. i replace my stock 6x9's with eclipse 4-ways. if i could easily put my 6x9's up front and my 6-1/2's in the back i would because it would sound better. but 6x9's will give you more bass. if you have asub in your trunk, which obbiously would be you most ideal way to get bass, then i would say go either route and just pay attention to the frequency of the speaker and to get something that has a lil more of a higher frequency vs lower

IMO, i thought the eclipse and kickers sounded better that those pioneers and i don't see a real need for 5 ways. the more ways, or speakers, you get, the more inter-modulation you get, which causes a peak at certain frequencies. not to mention you want your "ceneter" stage to be in front of you, versus behind you, thus the more higher frequencies you add behind you, the more it pulls it to the rear. thus in a situation that you have a sub, you want mid-range in the back.

thanks guys! I think im leaning toward the 6-3/4's in the back so i don't run into clearance issues and its cheaper. I plan on installing just one 10" sub from elemental designs. I need something just to make my music come alive and not sound so muddy
