IT BROKE!!! My stupid glove compartment locking mechanism broke. Does anyone know where I can find that one piece or where I can find a replacement glove box? I already called all the junkyards in my area and none of them have any Galants. I guess thats a good sign lol but I still need that part.

I actually haven't tried the local dealership... Would they have that part? Even if my car is an 01?
which part are u talkin about .??? the piece that box latches to ?? if that is it then i might have one around i got it as an extra since i wanted to fix the gap on my glove box

Its the piece connected to the glove box. theres this little plastic piece attached to a spring and it locks the glove box closed. That little piece snapped and now I think I might have to replace the whole lock itself. As of right now in order to keep it closed I had to brake a piece of a chop stick off and kind of jam it in there. otherwise the glove bock would remain open all the time.
I just looked at the box and realized its the entire handle. My glove box doesn't even have a handle. lol
hmmm i know there was 1 galant at a local yard and if they still have it i will try to get it from it
in the meantime contact STEWI he has a parts car and he might have it for u

I had replaced this part a few years back and it was cheaper at the dealership. Well I think it was less than 20 bucks
but yeah like Alex said contact Stewie and see if he has the piece

Yeah I have it, but for the cost it aint even worth shipping. Its like $18 at the dealer. I have replaced mine twice already.
