Yep, that's what I did, and my SES light is no longer lighting up (except startup).

Damn, maybe if I did that, I wouldn't had to replace them. Well, the pre-cat needed a replacement, the honeycomb had a big hole in it.

i have a couple things you need to do before you go and buy a new cat.

1, you need to get under yoru car and with a mallet or a hamer, beat yoru cat a few times with it. hit it nice and hard like you have a pair. this will help to loosen things up on the inside that may be clogging it.

2. next i want you to get on a highway onramp (after your car is warmed up) and floor your car. hold the pedal to the floor and hold it through redline and trrough 3 gears.

This will blow a TON of crap out of yoru cat. as well as get it nice and hot so it can clean itself.

do that 2 or 3 times in the same outing...... then go home. reset your ecu.

Hopefully this will have salvaged yoru current cat/cats.


To maintain a healthy cat. its critical that you floor it from time to time.

At work I have sold a cat and 2 02 sensors for around 1500, the dealer pricing is very high on a oem cat. Your better off going to a muffler shop and having a universal one done for around 300

smashed out on the freeway and cel is now gone! over 500 miles and it still hasn't come on. YES!!!!!
