Gear shifter Light out

Hey, Im new to this forum so if this topic was already posted sorry. So I have a 99 GTZ, and the shifter light (one that illuminates the gears) is out. My question: How do I get to it? Please help??? Thanx

i think if you remove the trim piece, there a little bulb i forgot the bulb size but it clips out.

the piece he described can be pryed off with a small flat head screwdriver , be carefull not to hurt the edges, start at the sides , once you get that piece off you need to remove the shifter, the screw is located to the side of the shifter once you do that the button will fall out be careful not to loose all the parts the spring , and the button , then remove the screws at the base of the shifter and the cover comes off then unscrew to bulb fixture , replace the bulb and reassemble in the reverse order.

its pretty easy all you have to know is how to use a screwdriver and your alright , if i had to explain how to rebuild a transmission you would be in trouble , lol
