go to your local hardware store they sell these "stripped bolts" removers..works great. ask somebody at the store and they'll direct you to what you need.
I'm probably about 2 or 3k miles over my oil change but i can't get the bolt off! i don't remember what the hell i did last time i changed the oil bc the bolt is sooo tight that the head of it is almost rounded off. What can I do to get it off without bringing it to a shop (i will if i have to). I was thinking of using vice grips.

Yeah, thats what Cali is talking about. Its basically a socket with sharp insides that dig into the bolt head and lets you unscrew it. You can get a kit(just different sizes) at AutoZone or anywhere. Just would need a new oil drain plug once its all said and done.
7g for life!
Yes get what cali said, and change your oil more often. :)
Love,
Matt
i just use a set of vise grups in the past. those removers sound easier than the vise grips. just make sure to buy a replacement drain bolt before starting.

I assume you are turning it the correct direction? It seems that people get confused for some reason when they are laying down. As a former Cadillac technician, I would recommend the properly size 6 point socket (they don't slip as easily at 12 points), and brute force. If it still slips, use vice grips. Then go buy a new drain plug so you aren't screwed the next time you need to change the oil.
Good Luck!
