Thats a nice Idea.... I have an evo and frequent evo forums. A lot of mr guys like to switch out to 5speed for some reason so there should be a few 6speed's around...

well yeah but they switch because of horsepower thus 5sp easier with a 600hp car vs a 6spd. but also im thinking the bell housing might be to big

The EVO bell housing isnt too big, the tranny is. Well let me rephrase that, the transfer case doesnt fit. So the tranny itself probably fits but your wasting engine power spinning the output to the transfer case if your keeping it FWD, if you try to go AWD your opening a whole different project. The reason EVO guys switch to 5 speed is because the gearing is better for drag racing with the 5 speed.

a wrecked EVO isnt even half of it....I actually bought a wrecked EVO and never did the AWD swap due to the amount of work involved and the racing limitations. Example, it would cost about $10k to do a AWD swap and use high performance parts like a light driveshaft, stronger axles, front, rear and center LSD's, built tranny, etc. Then once all you have them go fast parts, all you can do is race in time trial things which are just bracket racing, so you lose to 15 second auto cars or you race in outlaw class against 7 and 8 second full race cars. Whenever you alter your drivetrain ie, FWD, RWD, AWD, you cant race in any type of regular class or event. If I did this type of swap in the car, it would more to say "yeah I did that" I dont like doing stuff for that reason, but hey, to each his own.
