    Need Help Identifying this part

Well today I was going to work and as I am reaching my job I meet up with my co-worker that owns an Impreza on the way to work.
I am at a light and we decide to do a small race, as I am racing I am shifting through the gears and as I shift from third to fourth for some reason I miss fourth gear and shift to second and obviously over rev the engine and then the following happened, I hear a weird noise like something is rubbing or loose and then the following item falls from my car according to my friend. I go back to where the item fell and I found this.

Does anyone know what this is? I checked my engine and i cant seem to find anything missing. the last thing i have been thinking is maybe it didnt come from my car.

Nothing comes to mind. Is it metal or hard rubber?

Yea the color doesnt even look like something I have seen before. Are you still having problems with the car or is it fixed?

it looks like a seal to me, though there are no signs of oil on it and no way for me to tell if it is rubber or metal.

Not how fast your car goes but how good u drive going fast.

Maybe you ran over it ?

It kinda looks like part of a bump stop from the suspension, but I wouldn't assume that would have been caused by over revving

its rubber, also my car is actually smoother than before for some reason at high speeds the engine is quieter and its smoother when its on idle. I think its something from this area.
