btw why do you want to hook up the headlights insted of parking lights? do you leave early in the morning or come home late at night where light conditions are low?

I also wanted to get the headlights to come on when I push the carfinder button, which flashes the lights in the car.

And there is nothing wrong with a test light, though you wouldn't ever catch me using anything other than a multimeter, its just more accurate.
