    Galant or subaru??

Ok, right now i have a 99 galant es v6. Ive only had it for about 3 months, i was thinking about getting a 2000 subaru impreza rs(thats the non turbo 2.5). My question is for some people that have done simple mods like header, cai, car, are you happy with the performance? I mean is the galant worth it? I can get an impreza for around 15-16 and they are pretty quick. I dont wanna drop alot of money into my galant and get beat by some little ricer. Lemme know. thanks

You will most likely get better performance from the suburu, even if it is the non-turbo 2.5, especially if you mod it a little, and its a manual. =/

Depends on your usage...the Subaru has a tighter rear seat than even the Galant. If you're going to be hauling around people you might want to examine this aspect.

Yeah, the only Subaru I would waste my money on is the WRX. [/quote]

It's the exact reason why I didn't get an Eclipse..... too tight a fit and no rear passenger room.

The Galant is worth it. IF you can get a 5spd suby though that'd be nice, but i'd sure as hell not trade my Galant for one.

As much as I'd love to own a WRX, I wouldn't trade my Galant for it either. In answer to your question, I've done a few basic mods to my Galant, and yes I'm very happy with the performance. I also like the fact that if I want to haul people around, I can with no trouble. I've still got a lot of opportunity to do more mods if I want to and if I have the cash, but overall, I'm happy with what I've got so far.

A friend of mine has a WRX and I can't even see fitting two children in the rear. Nice car , but too small. It would be nice to have one but as Chip said, "I would never trade my Galant for one"!

Thanks for all the advice, im really not to concerned with passengers to be honest. I guess the only thing i dont like about my galant is the fact that it is an automatic.. A stick is much funner to drive plus you dont see to many imprezas around atleast not where i live and i see 20 galants a day. So i dont know, maybe ill just save a little extra money and go for an Audi A4 quattro

An Audi would be nice. If I have enough money, I would get one. Right now, I'm pretty content with my Galant.

the A4 is gonna rock you for a little more than the 15-16 for the Scoob...

I would stick with the galant... but then again you got the 4... you'd prolly be happier with the RS... go for it... you get AWD, and stick...

if you got the 6, i'd hang tight... hell $600 will get you another 25-40 horses...

There is a groupbuy going on for the AMSS headers, check it out...

As Tiller pointed out the AMSS headers will help free up around 20 to 40 hp, and the price is about 600 or so during the group buy.

headers my friend, headers... to get the most out of them you will need to tune your fuel... which will cost you about $300 for the electronics, and another 150-300 for the dyno time to tune them...

tuneing is not neccesary, but if you are going to do something, you may as well do it right...
