    Very Interesting AGX info...

NRG posted a thread in "General Posts and Information for the 8G" called "Problem With Ride Height"... some references were made to dial location of the AGX Rears being behind the seat by 99DE & DANJ which confused me as mine are on the side of the shock behind the wheel... here's what i found after i dug up my box...

the ones listed for the 3g Eclipse are 741020
the AGX's i was sent from Coximport were part # 741019

listed for that # are the following applications...

    95-99 Chrysler Sebring (Exc. Convertible)
    95-98 Dodge Avenger
    95-97 Eagle Talon 2WD
    95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2WD

now i never cross referenced the part number since i got them... i just installed em & that was it...

i believe i may have stumbled onto something...

    1. we may have available to us other vendors who currently offer the above applications (but not 8G rears)...

    2. i have 8 way adjustable rear shocks... everyone else has 4 way... 8)

this is so friggin weird... but kinda cool... i've had absolutely NO PROBLEM with these bad boys either... guess i kinda lucked out...

These are the numbers Tiller gave me:

    right front - 734019
    left front - 734020
    rears - 741020

If I'm not mistaken, a couple years back when there were no front struts or struts available for the 3G and 8G, people where using Koni inserts inside a modified OEM front strut and 7G or 2G Eclipse rears (Tokico I believe).

I forgot this info until you just posted the above info. It's good to know that we're not that limited in the parts we could use.

 how much did you pay for them? How do they ride compared to stock? 8)

Ok, well the part #'s I ordered and received from cox were - (1)734020 (1)734019, and (2/rear)741020.....they were listed for 2K eclipse...I grinded down the fronts (724020 & 734019) to install them with OBX coilovers, the backs, I have not installed yet...

don't get confused guys... the part # for the rears IS 741020 for the rears... but when i ordered from Cox a while back i never looked at the box... the part # i was sent was 741019... 8 way adjustable... the right one is the one you ordered... 741020... which is only 4 way adjustable on top...

and Lost... there's no comparison... they're off the hook... i think Cox sells the rears for like $90 each...

    In summary EvoLuTioN,

You ordered the rear shocks and got 741019's which are actually meant for the Eclipse 2G's but they still fit on your 8G galant?

They are 8 way adjustable on the side fo the shock and the ride is good?

Did you have ride height problems like the others? (uneven car heights side to side and front to back)

    Thanks...

i've had no problem with them at all... the rear shox design is interchangable on the 2 & 3g eclipse... so they will both fit our car...

and the ride height is an issue with the car... not the shox/struts... i noticed that my car right now stock shox is uneven...

p.s. the reason it's stock again is i wanna change the shock mounts to the ones KYB sells since i'm about to order the front struts... i'm just waiting to hear back from them on the right part #'s for our cars...

i'll post the strut / shock mount part #'s when i hear from them.
if anyone else already has this information... please post it...

So the uneven height was caused by the springs you've got? NOT the shocks?

What mounts (rear) are you talking about? I thought they just bolted up to the chassis?

  11. #11
No, the uneven ride height isn't caused by the springs or the shocks.......I had uneven ride height problem since my stock shocks and now with a new set of kyb and springs, its still uneven....I think Reelax mentioned it was because of the bushings that gets worn easily thus rendering uneven ride.

Well at least i know i can get 8-way adjustables, instead of 4-way.. What a way to find out, just getting them by accident...
