    First time fireworks pics

I tried my hand at photographing fireworks for the first time last night. It was much harder then I thought it would be.

The rest are located here: http://flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/
Anybody else get any 4th of July pics?

You did pretty awesome for your first time man, congrats. That first shot looks great.

Im going to try to take some tonight for the first time too. I ordered a remote shutter release but its not here yet so I will have to rely on the 10sec timer, a black piece of cardboard to cover the lens, and long shutter speeds :)

Thanks guys. Seth I had to use the 10 second timer. I did not have a black peice of cardboard at the time. I will try that tonight. Chip the wheel is located at navy peir in Chicago.

I brought my camera,my trusty black cardboard, tripod, camera bag, everything to the park last night. Got my camera out ... no memory card! Arg. And I walked to the park so I couldnt just go home real quick and get it. Pissed me off, not the first time this has happened.

I need to get a cheapo 1g card or something and keep it in my bag at all times. I have a 2gb and 4gb card now, somehow the 4gb card is missing in action.

Damn man that sucks! Thats just as bad as me shooting for a whole day and then noticing that I had my ISO set at 1600. I did use the "black cardboard" trick last night, but all I had was a black wallet. The bad thing is I let someone talk me in to going to a different location and the view really sucked. I only got 3 half way ok photos out of the whole night.

Post away man. Its cool to see what everyone came up with. Blackmm what phone did you use? My Black Berry would not even pick up the fireworks when I tried.
