minor problems.. Rattling in the rear? Mb trunk

I've been having minor problems wit the G. For the past couple of months there has been this annoying rattling noise coming from the trunk are. It only rattles when I hit a bump /rocky road. I thought it was my spare tire cuz it doesn't completely fasten down so it has room to wiggle. So I ended up taking the spare out, I also fastened the back seat down but the rattling is still occurring... Where could the rattling be coming from? It sound like it might be my shocks... Possibly? I have brand new agx's that ned to go on. Should I replace the whole mount?

It sounds like your shocks are shot. When was the last time you replaced them??

I always replace mine, front and rear at the same time. Well then do that and the noise will go away.

How can I tell if it's bad (the mount) should I get them at the dealer?

Well in the rear you don't have to replace entire assembly, just the rubber garment in the middle, there's one on top and one on the bottom held together by a metal shaft. This is something you can do. If you need a "how to " let me know and I'll help you out.

    EDIT:

The shock mounts are like 8 bucks each so it's best to buy them instead of just the rubber pieces. Also replace the spring insulator if it's bad.

You may want to have the sway bar checked, mine rattled in the rear over rough roads and bumps, took it to the shop and one side was bad. Bought the sway bar repair kit from NAPA and now the G is quite again. Just another possiblity.

You will need to replace Number (SPRING INSULATOR )11 & Number ( SHOCK MOUNT )12.
