    need to slam my galant

i test fit my wheels and i need it very low. i actually compressed the strut to where the top and bottom spring mounts where almost 1" apart. there was hardly any room for a spring to fit.

i was going to replace struts anyway but i would prefer to stay away from getting a full coilover strut. im on a budget build.

i want to tuck 1/2 tire in the rear and run a flush tire in the front.

if you are not considering a full coilover strut, and want to drop that low, i probably would'nt even consider replacing the struts either just because with a drop that low, you'll wear them out in no time at all.

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

theres no airrunner kit for the galant, trust me we have 2 cars on it. and i wouldnt want to spend another 6 g's for a kit installed.

so is running a full coiover strut the only way to get that low?

There's a G on here with an airunner kit.. It looks amazing IMO

i would cut but it wouldnt even matter i think. with my strut jacked all the way up i have 1" between the top and bottom perches. only room for about 2 coils.

the thing is i want it even lower than that.

and which galant is on airrunner?

use coilsprings and take the perches out, like skunk2's or ground controls or something.

is it just me or is it extremely hard to tuck the front wheels on a galant?

I've seen one or two Galants with tucked front wheels, and both have been on TGC, can't remember the member names though.

even with the bags that car would still be pretty high off the ground if he removed the side skirts

what i meant was coilovers but not the full coilovers. take the perches out of those and you'll be slamemd

you can try it and see if it works. i think the struts will bottom out?

  18. #18
as of right now the struts are very close to bottoming out. does anyone know of a shock that will give me more travel that will fit the galant. do any of the eclipse line of struts offer more travel?

i saw someone selling bags on c3g for a pretty decent price

so you need a shortened body damper AND custom mounted perches (since running less than 3 coils will brobably ride awfully)... i think you just need to bag it to get it that low and still be able to raise it up to drive. the lowest 8G on coils that i've seen was SKILLZ911 (tein basic) and that wasn't near as low as u are describing. if you are set on going w/ traditional springs and shortened body shocks, RRE does a KONI insert set on shoretened stock body dampers:
