One of two things jump to mind.

    Either:

    1. The mechanism is not releasing properly in which case you should check the action (have someone manipulate the release lever while you watch to see if the business end is working properly) and make sure there is no debris or what not gumming up the works

    or

    2. The spring that would pop the door open is not working right. Check that there is some resistance in the spring/make sure it's still there.

That's what comes immediately to mind. I'm pretty sure you'll find one of those two to be the culprate.

ok cool, knowing dealerships theyll go into a long explanation that my spring camber (such a thing? lol) is wrong and that should be fixed and the door is 1/18 of a cm off and needs to be fixed for 80 bucks and the spring is carbon fiber and will run me another trillon dollars.hehe

fuel door spring will probably run you a couple of bucks.

    snap in back into place.

    done.

Mine was the same way when I bought it.

I just took that metal tab on the side of that door and bent it so it sticks out more. That'll make it spring when you pull the release lever.

Let me know if this works for you...very simple if that is the problem
