    Baby G ~ 2000 Galant ES I4

When I got it in all her stock 4x4 glory!

December 30, 2005, Timing belt snaps at 113k and bends all the valves, and shoots one of them into the piston creating a quarter sized hole.

    January, 2006 swapped a 02 4G64 with 35k miles

Summer, 2006 mods are as follows, Pioneer HU, clear corners, AEM intake, A'pexi axle-back,misc. interior lighting, RRE stb, and Tein SS-P coilovers

Winter, 2006-2007 AEM bypass valve, grille mod, JDM 3rd gen tails, and GF COTM February

March 2007, accident with wheel damages front left fender. (infamous dent) lol

    May, 2007. 17" Rota Battle

June, 2007. Painted Rotas with graphite wheel paint. later taken off 'til new tires are mounted.

02-03 heads, flat black grille later replaced with graphite grille

4300K H.I.D., tinted tails, and 2300K foglight bulbs

235/45/17 Yokohama Advan A046 mounted and installed on the car.

    Winter 2007-2008

    GTZ grille

    Spring 2008. De-winged

Summer 2008. M3 lip spoiler later taken off

color matched garnish and 99-01 heads

painted 15's sold Rotas to local for 250 picked up. De-tinted tails (still needs polishing or clear)

At the moment, more new pics in the "keeping the dream alive" thread

Plans for summer 2009. 5-speed swap completed by March
first acquired part. 2G FWD GS-T ACT streetlite flywheel with 3k miles for 80 bucks. guy took it off cuz he switched to an AWD trans
    needs resurfacing

Centerforce 2G clutch, rest of trans swap parts (cables, pedals, shifter, etc.), rear disc swap, rear sway bar, two-pot front calipers, 16" GS-T chrome wheels, Falken Azenis RT-615, turbo maybe

BTW, all of the work done to my car was done by me except for the water pump and timing belt replacement. Which was done by One6 motorsports in Elk Grove Village in Illinois, only due to I didnt have time to do it myself. Everything else, was my own sweat, blood, and tears.

Yes they are supposed to be that way to be able to adjust camber. Also you know that you can go with 3G parts all the way for your 5spd swap and use the starter you have now, right?

yes, I am aware that if I use all 3G parts I will be able to use my current starter. But my current starter is about 90k old and the act flywheel was 80 and the centerforce clutch is 160 so using and spacing a 2g starter dont seem bad considering how cheap I can get 2G DSM parts.

The grille Chicago_one made me was bowing at the bottom a little bit so I took the mesh off of it to straighten it out but as soon as the mesh was off the bottom straightened out pretty evenly.

    Before

This afternoon, stripped the paint, no mesh

notice how much starighter the grille itself is and how it lines up tih the heads.
At the moment. re-painted and cleared

    My first attempt at bondo.

As she sits, and how it will sit for a while. Since I work at home now, I can elongate projects instead of rushing to get them done at once. Going to prime, paint, clear, wetsand, polish, and buff it tomorrow while the kid is sleeping

all that, without breaking the bank on the 5-speed swap fund

thanks bro. Couldn't have done it without you making the grille for me. thanks again man.

I am only painting the ding that I filled. If that is successful I will try a couple other dents.

was wondering do any of you know if I can use bondo to hold plastic mesh onto a plastic grille?

You could, I'd just use glue or staples.

It's like looking at a mirror Jigz. Good Work.

cleared the tails, theyre kinda textured, and I kinda like 'em.

One thing I found out about myself today, I'm not cut-out to be a body shop guy. I'm a mechanic and I'm sticking to that. I filled one of the dings in with bondo, it looked good unpainted but in reality after I laid the color down it needed another layer of bondo. there is still a little bit of an indent, but its better than before. Although, you can see some of the scratches from sanding, looks good from far, but its an ugly bitch up close. eh, whatever it will do 'til I can hand her to a pro to get painted.

I got the grille situated I used screws to hold the mesh. Trying to figure out how I am going to mount the emblem

Glue the emblem, it'll hold really well, and that's a pretty good bondo/paint job.
