Thank you for all of your support. It means a lot to see the impact my little blue rocket has on people.

I woke up this morning and thought to myself, there is NO WAY I am going to let this beat me and ruin my cruel summer. I have a good diff in a blown trans and a bad diff in a good trans. I am going to Frankenstein two transmissions to make one and BabyG will be back in action!

That's what I'm talking about! People take note, this is how winners do it, never giving up!

Good luck Jigz, not that you need it 'cause you got this.

    Bring her back to life

Last time you guys saw BabyG, she was on her deathbed. If you follow sosickmotorpsorts on instagram you've seen this pictures.

I was supposed to buy this, but the owner flaked right after I told him I am ready to come up with a truck and trailer to take it off his hands.

    Oh well, his loss.

I was pretty lost after that. Started looking at 2G Eclipses but had no desire to build one.

I bought a set of wheels for my daily so I drowned my sorrows in the "stance game" for a few weeks.

I soon realized how fuckin' boring the "stance game" is. People can only stand around in a parking lot, and drive around doing 0-60 in 12 seconds for so long.

Safe to say something in me snapped, and after a few conversations with underated, Greddy, and Ivory8g I was back in the Galant mentality of things.

I ended up going to the junkyard and hounding some of my buddies for parts and ended up with this stack of parts in the garage that my wife is currently yelling at me for.

Next thing you know, I was spending my wifes money buying cams and shit.

AAAANNNN THENNNNN I got to meet this guy and ride in this car. It was over after that.

Then, I took my motor apart.

Probably could have gotten away using the stock bottom end, but then I would be stock around 15psi of boost and we dont want that. We wanted MOARRRR BOOOSSSTTTT

So I bought Pistons and rods

As far as the body goes, I couldnt let her go so I fixed the firewall, straightened the frame and learned how to weld. Core support is removeable now.

This was my first take on the patch, hated it so I cut it back out. Did a second try and hated it even more. Im saying third time is a charm.. Whenever I get to it.

Started welding shit up. Dont tell anyone but yes, I cut a perfectly good ETS UICP so I can weld a TiAL flange on it. Also made a battery tray for my baby battery and mocked a patch with cardboard (second try, hated it too).

Then it got cold, so since I was stuck inside I figured I'd buy parts.

    parts

    and more parts

then, BabyG said she wanted to be like a Honda. So I learned how to weld some more.

I took every piece of interior out besides the dash and the seat, still contemplating on the door panels. Probably going to gut the rear doors as well.

But then it got EVEN COLDER.

So she sits like this ATM. Oh yeah, those are JDM heads.

So now, I'm waiting to get just a tad warmer and my engine back from the machine shop and progress will commence. I apologize for the Instapics as well, I didnt have a decent computer until now. So expect some GT/TGC exclusive pictures on the DSLR on the progress to come.

    Parts list so far

Hyundai Sonata cylinder head, new valve guides, freshly machined
    HKS 280/280 cams
    Kelford valvesprings
EVO8 valves, seats, retainers, and lifters
    Fidanza adjustable cam gears
    Wiseco 9:1 pistons
    Manley H-beam rods
    Clevite race bearings
    ARP main studs
    ARP head studs
    OEM Mitsubishi head gasket
    OEM 94 GS timing belt
    RC 1000cc injectors
    AEM AFPR
    Competition Stage 4 6-puck clutch
    EIIIUSA 27x12x13 FMIC
    Blackworks Half radiator
    Omni 4-bar MAP
    GM IAT sensor
    eBay tubular exhaust manifold
    Tial Q BOV
    Tial 38 mm external wastegate
    Garrett 60-1 .63 A/R turbo

Got a couple things more to buy with our tax returns but the biggest thing is the LSD. I am shooting to be ready and tuned by June. My cruel summer was ruined last year. I am not going to let it get ruined this year.

Jigz my man, remember when you do the LSD to get the speedo drive gear and fresh bearings. And test fit your axles in it before installing it in your trans.
Love the progress, I need proper photos though to see the madness. You going FF?

Nice work so far, youve been pretty busy!

  19. #999
    Thanks guys.

Yes, Martin I will make sure to do all of that. Was planning on getting all the necessary OEM bearings and gears anyway. As of now, I am not going FF but maybe down the road I will which is why I opted for the half radiator. I will run the 60-1 for now but dont count me out as I see a bigger turbo in the works for the future. No AWD though. sadly.

    xd_01, are you still FWD?
