    Coilovers, I need your opinions.

I'm set on getting coilovers for my 8G. I have to choose amongst K-sport, megan, tein, and d2. I know that the K-sports and the d2's I can order with custom spring rates, not sure about the megans and teins. From what I've researched, most of the 8gr's are running megans or teins, I've seen once of d2's, and nobody on K-sport. I'm willing to save up to buy any of the other three if you guys can give me some pros and cons on these (such as ride, handling, squeaking, etc), but I wanna know if I should go with a brand new set of K-sports for 450 dollars locally. Your feedback would be appreciated.

All I heard are good things about Ksport. It's selling $950 from ebay (Kontrol Pro Damper system). That's a good deal if you can get them new for 450 dollars. Is it the same model?

Me too, it's just that some of the reviews i read say they ride really harsh, which isn't something I'd want in a daily. I suppose it all depends on the spring rates you go with.

The question is what is the condition of the Ksports that you can get for $450? If they are NEW I'd buy them NOW. If not, I'd be a bit more weary of previously installed product being sold for so cheap. Other than that, my megans perform rather well, not as bouncy imo as people make them seem to be.

i was in the same boat as you, i have tein basic and i like it alot but would pefer D2 in the future.

The K-sports are brand new, the guy bought them for his 3G, but ended up selling it and buying an evo 8, so the coilovers are in his garage for cheap. That's the story anyways, I'm gonna go look at them tommorow and see if he's telling the truth.

I'm a firm believer in D2. not just the product, but the support.

when i had my wreck, and one of my dampers was destroyed... i called their NC office, phone was answered in 1 ring.
1 ring. a man answered with perfect english and solid customer service skills.
for 60 bucks shipped i had a brand new shock. and it was on my dorrstep 2 days later.
when i talked to himm he also let me know that i can have any spring rate I want, just call him and for 100 bucks, i'll have whatever custom spring rate i need.

It wasn't just him saying a bunch of BS. He was actually crunching numbers and doing calculations verbally to determine what spring rates would be best for the setup i was looking for witht he weight of car i was driving, and the type of competition i was looking to be a part of.

VERY SOLID customer service. Very high quality product.
My set is all aluminum. every single component is cnc billet aluminum.

    tein.....
    steel.

heavier, inferior. paying waaaaaaaaay to much for a name.

For the 8g I thinks it's D2-M11 coilovers. What is the best recommended spring rate?
