Chrome Lip Oxidation

So as many of you have seen I just picked up my 18 inch enkeis. They are super nice all except for the fact that they are oxidized on the lips. Im already tired of seeing that so I was thinking of color matching the lips to my car... what do you guys think? otherwise any ideas? here are the rims.

I'd say leave it as a polished/machined lip.

Eww, no don't color match it to white, just polish them up with the stuff redgalant recommended, it works great.

May not get deep oxidation out, but should help quite a bit.

Just sand the lip down and reclear it.

what grit sand paper would you recommend like 600-800

Yeah, something fine so it doesn's scratch material. After you remove the old clear on there go even higher for a final touch. Use quality clear.

Try pig snot. Bikers use it on their chrome..

Or use catalyzed urethane clear coat paint, I use Glisten OC by POR-15

i use this on my exhaust tips (aluminum) to keep them from turning black. it's great stuff. i resort to a powerball when i neglect them for too long and the black crap is really thick. never tried it on my wheels... but then aqgain, my wheels are pristine.

On some of the old wheelsi reconditioned, I used aircraft stripper and let it eat up the clear coat, then sanded it down with 1000 grit, repolished with mothers polish. then take it somewhere to get it recleared. but you can skip the whole reclearing if you polish your wheels everytime you wash your car.

Bottom line dude, if you really like these wheels and want to keep them longer then do what I told you because wheels on a daily car see alot of crap, water, debris, snow, ice, rocks just whatever and they need the best protection to last longer. Most wheel companies that sell cheap wheels, use cheap products because they dont care about quality but quantity and if their cheap clears can last a year, well that good enough for them.. You cut corners and get cheap and you will be in the same spot you are now in 6 months. When I lived in Cali, my wheels looked pristine all the time too because they dont have to deal with salt, snow and ice in some places or excessive rain days likemost of the country does.

IF YOU USE A POLISH, DO NOT OVER APPLY THE POLISH. Please, use small amounts when applying the polish. Eagle One is good shit, but use it sparingly. And always use a clean cloth to wipe away excess polish.
