    4g64 vs k24

Im Sorry to Ask but what is the big different on these to 2.4L

  2. #2
one is a twin cam honda engine with vtec, the other is a single cam mitsu engine without any form of variable valve timing. K24 is all aluminum, revs higher in stock form, 4G64 has an iron block. Are you planning on trying to swap in a K24? Why would you ask this question anyways?

all his threads have been locked, cuz they dont make sense or questions are really out of place.

Im guessing same thing is gonna happen to this one

Use google.com and youll find endless information on any engine you want or whatever youre looking for, or you wanna know, and stop spamming the forum

slight broblem. he didn't specify wich 4g64. the DOHC owns so many honda motors

    64 DOHC
    160 hp 151tq

    k24
    195hp 154 tq

the diffrence is the 64 DOHC head gots mean cams. Proto lost to very few N/A cars with his GS back in the day.

but WTF does this thread have to do with anything?

I just went out on a limb and assume he meant the 4G64 in his car, which would be a single cam. I know that the DOHC 64 is pretty powerful in NA form, just didn't think that's what he was asking about.

no no no hell nuh it is something i wanted to know is all because alot of people say your galant cost to much to do all of that to it and like if you had a k24 you would be flying and what im saying is theres no big diffrents because i can take my motor and have it rebuild alot better

And yes the SOHC Is what i was talking about.

dude, u are comparing 30 year old 63/64 engine vs. brand spanking new 2000+ k24 vtec engine. of course it will outperform 64 n/a sohc or even dohc. Ive read kill stories about k24 with minor mods beating completly stock 1g 63t, but go figure.

Like bmore said we have all the dsm factory and aftermarket support, and thats why dsm is considered a BANG for the buck. you can turbo your car for less than 300 bucks and push 200 hp.

when it comes to honda, you can boost it for less if its older model / b16 - b20 engines - using DSM parts/, but there are no factory turbo parts for k24, so it will cost you , plus the price you paid for the car.

K24 can suck a barrel full of bong water for all I care. Honda has and always will be the laughing stock of JDM engineering.

you need to tell them no torque pussies to stfu. you probably have one of the cheapest cars to make fast considering you drive a 7G and its almost the same as a DSM. I mean you could swap in a 6-bolt 4G63T in your 7G for less than 3k with the right motor and if you do it yourself. Not to mention, after that swap you would whoop slightly modified k24's. And think about hwne you upgrade the turbo, or up the fuel and boost. you would be leaving them before they could even launch.

I like Hondas don't get me wrong, but their owners seem to think they know everything this side of the planet. So stop listening to the m torquless wonders about your mitsubishi. Especially your Galant.

Funny story, I have a friend that had a honda but recently picked up a GTI, the original owner of the GTI had really upped the turbo situation on the car, had a real nice clean setup. Anyways my "friend" was unhappy because he could not hear the pshhhhhh of the BOV because it was recirculated. So he just decided to get another BOV and hook it up and leave the old on there still hooked up and nothing capped off. He didnt bother to change the tune or anything, this was about a week ago, so I'll see how this turns out in the long run.

4g63lover you know that 94-96 7G's say DSM on the tags and identification cards right?
