    97 Transmission In limp mode

    i have 97 Galant 2.4 ..Just put the tranny in ...As soon as i start the car and drive it check engine light comes on and tranny is in 3rd gear all the time ...doesnt shift up or down ...Scanner says code p1750 (solenoid assembly) im not sure what year the car was that the tranny came from ..could it be tcm not comatible with this tranny or one of the sensors?

    any help really appreciated

    Yup..the tranny is in failsafe mode.

    I had the same issues when I had my 95 Galant. The problem was the TCM.

    Get another transmission computer. That should fix your problem, and is relaltively cheap to get another one. Take out the original one and make sure you get the same MD code that is on the one you have

    If its the correct tranny/TCM and everything is hooked up right, It's doubtful its the TCM. It will usually not output anything if its bad, since its still spitting codes its more likely tranny mechanical on the "new" tranny or its not installed right either electrically or TCM- tranny matchup.
