    Maint. at 84k

My G has been pretty darn good to me over the past three years and I've decided it's high time I stop neglecting her. I'm finally taking her in for a new timing belt and going ahead and getting a badly needed brake job while she's in with the R1 Concepts rotors that have been sitting in my garage for eons. I'm around 84k miles with a 6G72... what other things do you guys think I should consider, assuming I never did a 60k mi service? I did the plugs and wires last summer. Hmmm...

Make sure to do the waterpump while the timing belt is off and go ahead and do all the belts while you're at it.
    Light em up.

    How about a coolant flush.
If you're not running it already...a good synthetic motor oil.
Change the brake fluid while doing the pads and rotors.
    PCV valve.
And of course the obvious stuff like air filter. Maybe run some fuel system cleaner through (Gumout Regane is good stuff)

How's the condition of your alternator/AC belt?

Also, have the valve cover gaskets ever been replaced? Mine were shot by 70K, but you are in an 02-03, so aged rubber is less of a factor for you.

Check all bushings. (Note to myself: ahhhh, I hate living in a sandbox.)

Clean your fuel injectors. This really helps as well. I've had problems with my other car because there was not enough fuel going through. Less chance of your car wanting to stall on you too.

Anyone have any suggestions as far as cleaning the fuel injectors goes aside from the bottled stuff that some say doesn't even really work.

Hate to admit it, but I got over 115,000 legal miles (I swapped the cluster at 43,000 for one with 34,000 or something) and I have never did any sort of scheduled maintenance on the car. Only thing I've ever had to replace was axles and one caliper (plus rotors). Car runs smooth, except for the nasty valve lifter noise (probably from lack of maintenance).

Now that my Sentra is in good working order, the Galant is now stored in the Garage until I save up to get the tune up, timing belt changed and other work done.

Things to get replaced while you are doing your timing belt:
    -new water pump
    -new thermostat
    -coolant flush with new coolant
-replace upper and lower radiator hose
-inspect heater inlet and outlet hoses going into the heater core and replace if need be
    -new cam seals
    -new crank seal
    -new oil pump seal
    -new plenum gasket
-new spark plugs (NGK strongly recommened)
    -new spark plug wires
    -new timing belt
    -oil change with new filter
-inspect for oil leaks and repair as neccesary.

    Other things to service:
-A/T fluid flush (strongly recommend Mitsu ATF)
-inspect cv axles and service accordingly
    -Throttle body cleaning
-Induction cleaning with Sea Foam or similar product (Do before replacing old spark plugs)

Thats all I can think of right now
