My 2001 Wrecked galant I bought for $500

I was on craigslist last week and found this for$700.
The lady must have gotten an insurance check and did not care about it anymore.
I went over and tried starting it, wouldnt start, so hooked it up to my truck with jumper cables, and 10 minutes later it started and purred like a kitten. It had a hole in the top of the radiator so i just drove it up and down the street and watched the temperature. It has 125000 miles on it. Good tires, and a Full tank of gas! She changed the oil 100 miles before she wrecked it. She said she had the timing belt replaced at 80k and had all the service records for it. The brake rotors were warped, so i had them machined and it shakes a little when accelerating, so im thinking motor mounts. So i fixed the top of the radiator with jb weld, got the hood to latch, and i have been driving it ever since.

    What do you guys think?

I dont think it needs too much,

The bumper still looks good, maybe a repair and repaint, grill and maybe headlights which you get used on there for cheap, a/c condenser and radiator $100each, Upper section of radiator support, hood, hinges and blend the paint on the fenders. If you talk with a shop that may cost about $1500-$2000.

What do I think?... I think it needs a lot of work! Good reason to go 4 a JDM front end though! Good price but high mileage, not too fond of the color but it'll work. You've got a lot of work ahead of you still... Good luck :)

I buy cars like these all the time and you my friend go a hell of a deal. Cars like that, with that least amount of damage go for like 1500 to 2000 at auction. Lets just say that you got that galant 500 less then what she could have got if she waited longer. Good buy!

Left Headlight, hood and grill is all you need. You can pull that radiator support out a little because it's not bad at all.

I'd be more focused on getting that front end fixed rather than worry about some ugly hubcaps. As long as you have all 4 ur good. U could put 19"s on there and the car still would look messed up cuz it look like a fat bitch sat on it LMAO!

Less than 1k, can't go wrong. Especially if you can get someone who knows what they're doing to point you in the right direction. Good luck, take your time, and have fun with it!!!

Car is sold, no more G.... Moved on to something a big more sporty.... lol
