    7g shocks

many people on here say that agx are the best for ride quality and price.but i have been looking around and i found some tokicos around the same price as the agx's.because i heard on many other forums that tokicos are if not one of the best in making shocks but here, many people are using the agx's.which are better??

    tokico illumina:

    KYB agx(for the 95-99 eclipse):
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...=p4506.c0.m245

EDIT:just read on another forum that the HP shocks can withstand a greater drop then the illuminas. it can drop 3.5" or moreand still be able to ride on that for a couple of years.

    tokico HP shocks:

thanks man, how much of a drop did you have on your supra?

and did the shocks last long?

also do you think that the HP withstand a greater drop then the illuminas like they said on other forums?

    sorry for so many questions.

I was dropped roughly 2 inches all around, and they were great, had them for about two years, then sold that suspension.

HP's aren't adjustable, Illumina's are. I highly recommend Tokico over KYB as I've had experience with both. I have Eibach Prokit, Tokico Illuminas and Ingalls camber kits. Great combo!

If you getting shocks for daily driving go with AGX. If you do track, go with tokico illumina.

this is going to be for daily driving but i still want that stiff suspension.is there any reason why the agx would be better for DD then the illuminas?they are pretty much the same price on what i found on ebay.

so im gonna go with tokicos.but now im not sure whether to go with th HP's or the illuminas, since supposedly the HP's can withstand a greater drop, but i do like the adjustable ride settings on the illuminas.but im leaning towards the illuminas.

Heres the quote for the HP's
"Well i had both on my 96 HB -- 1st was tha illuminiaz -- there were nice.. but if u talk to tha rep -- he will tell u they only support up to a 1.5" drop.. if u really wanna go lower than that - then u gotta get tha blues.. i know alot of kids who run tha tokico Blues w/ a 3"-4.5" drop all day.. for yrs & no porobs.. i ran a 3.5" drop on my tokico whites & blew all tha shocks out!!!! ~"

yea, i know i would be happy with $40 a piece.

would do 3.5-4'' drop? I wouldnt!

Get the adjustable ones. Then any springs you put on you can always adjust how comfortable or tough your ride would be. If you get the blue ones youll be stuck like it or not

i'm going to tell you right now.
no shock out there will support a 3" drop.
period. you will have like an inch to a half inch of strut travel left at that hieght. not o mention you couldn't run any bump stops(even with a 2.5" drop you can't run bump stops) so, no bump stops means:
    bottom the strut out once....
    one time...
and your shock is on its way out.
