I had a bad IAC that did that once. IAC is the lower portion of the throttle body. IAC = Idle air controller, controls the idle when it is cold.
7g for life!
IAC, or maybe your throttle is adjusted to be too high, either via the throttle body cable or the biss idle screw.
Yeah, could be that the idle is set too high and the IAC is trying to adjust it, but its too high for the IAC to compensate.
Question, when the car is cold, does it idle normal?
7g for life!
Prior to this problem happening...did you adjust or do anything before your problem started happening?
Did you try to adjust the BISS?
Did you clean the throttle body?
etc etc
IF you did ...then this could help us diag your problem. Right now I am with the other guys saying the problem is most likely your IAC.
1991 Galant VR4 1948/2000_________1996 Galant "S" 5 speed 2.4L turbo

when i start driving it around it goes

im gonna check the iac like u guys said
thanks for the help
AHHHHH! You have the same problem i do.. Before i found the egr valve it did it constantly. Now when the temps get below 50 it does it till the car starts to get warm after about 30 seconds.. Ive dealt with it for the 2 years.... I dont think its something serious to be honest.
