    *SOLVED* Squeaking noise from struts or springs?

    I recently had my stock struts and Progressive springs swapped with a set of KYB GR2 and Vogtland springs. I've had them on for about 5 months now. There is an awful squeaking sound coming mainly from the right front side, however, the ride is still good.

    I've been searching the net for possible answers and I was wondering which it could be.

    1) The springs - replace them or grease them? I read on a board that it could possibly be in need of lube.
    2) Replace the strut
    3) Worn strut mount?

    I've never had this loud squeaking even when the stock strut was blown, however, since I replaced both the strut and springs, I'm not sure which one it could be.

    it can also be bad motor mounts or sus bushings

    Why would motor mounts make a squeaking noise from the right front fender?

    Also, the squeaky noise dissipates slightly after about 5 to 10 minutes once the car has been in motion, and the noise is less when I don't have a passenger in the front seat. I'm thinking it's either the spring or the strut, because once their warmed up, it would make sense that it's more pliable.

    im barely at 5 k now with new motor mounts 10k on new suspension and i still squeak
    but ill tell u this it was lil worse before all this

    Yesterday afternoon I received my hub-centric rings from Ebay and had them installed. I also had the wheels rotated, and now the squeaking noise is gone.

    hmm...i have this squeaking nosie right now with my new suspension. Hope I dont have to do that.

    If you don't have hub-centric rings in your aftermarket wheels, you should get them. You'll immediately notice a difference once they're installed.

    I got mine from Ebay. It was $8.99 + $4.00 shipping.
    The Inside Diameter (I.D.) of the Galant is 67.1mm
    The Outside Diameter (O.D.) of my wheels, which is an ADR wheel, is 73mm.
    I bought the 73mm x 67.1mm hub-centric rings. I emailed ADR and asked them what the O.D. of my particular wheel model, as each wheel or wheel manufacturer may not be the same. I almost bought the 73.1mm before ADR responded, but I'm glad I didn't. That 1/10 of a mm would not have fit in the wheel.

    If you have stock wheels, you won't need them.

    What if you have stock wheels from a different mitsu?

    Not 100% sure, but if the other Mitsu has an hub I.D. of 67.1mm, then I would wager to say that you're alright. The wheel might also already have the hub-centric ring already in place, too.
