just use a credit card to get it started and then rip them off... there is a residue left behind, use some goo-gone, and you're done... you might want to wax/ polish the area afterwards...

Yeah, the rear emblems peel right off except for the diamond that has two small holes in back of it . There is nothing behind them except for the glue they use to hold them there. Use bug and tar remover to get that stuff off. If you notice a slight discoloration between the spots where they were just give your car a good waxing and that should do the trick.

If you find you can't pull them off with your fingers, get some fishing line and use that to shave the emblems off, then do as everyone else said to remove the residue of the adhesive that's left.

credit card=no no, you'll scratch up the paint using a credit card, i should know, my trunk lid has em.

but yea after u clean off the area of the residue, it is a must that u do wax it. uhm, tyea u've waxed every eposed area of your car so its protected except for under the emblems so don't forget to wax there. actually, i rubbed most of the residue off of my car and then since zymol is a cleaner wax, i just used that to remove the residue, double duty. i wax teh car and remove the residue. something u might want to try

i shaved the dealer emblem off the GTI on friday. used fishing line, just cuz every1 else was using it. we all know that allan is a hardcore fishing guy so yea, i start off with something thin, and yea i was rushing it. started with a 10 lb test. and eya i broke it, went up to 15 and still broke. so yea, i took out the expensive stuff, the 30lb braided line and i got it off, almost cut my fingers cuz of the braid but yea i got it off. but if you take your time, you should be str8.

on a side note on the galant, from the back of the trunk to the windshield is about a lil over 10 feet. thats the longest thing i ever stuck in the galant...

Hey!! Quit copying my car!!! Just kidding. I love the look of my car with just the GTZ on the trunk. I also shaved my V6 emblems on the fenders using the same method above and replaced them with red diamonds from an eclipse.
