a t3/t4 turbo uses a different manifold than a 14b. it wont be as simple as switching the turbo. you'll have to re-do your downpipe, among other stuff

ok i did realize the manifold and down pipe
im getting it as a package deal with another turbo we r using on the rb25 were putting in the 240 so im getting it cheap.. the real question is can i get away with stock internals if i dont run crazy boost?

well if your considering a headswap...at that time it wouldnt be a bad idea if you want to run high numbers to install at least new pistons...the 4cyl can take a decent amount of boost especially on a good tune but there is still a limit obviously replacing even only the pistons will raise that

the 16g is the normal upgrade for those running a 14b it is a bolt on i believe

true the 16g is a bolt on, but im getting this turbo in a package deal so im gonna have it so why not use it or ill sell it and get an 18g and do the headswap and run high numbers.. im thinking now cuz i have a 14b and this turbo.. which should i pick?

its a 50 trim, its coming with an hks gt3040 as a package from a buddy and i only cared about the hks's specs.. id run a pretty in depth tune and compression is whatever it is stock( can't remember exact numbers)

Dohc head swap makes it worse cuz it raises the compression, and the 50 trim is a lil overkill for stock ECU unless youll be doing 2g ECU swap. 14b can handle all the power you can make on stock internals and stock ecu
God created turbo lag to give the v8's a brief moment of hope.

you have to find out your compresion, and use a tubo map to layout where you fall. lmk if you dont understand what im talking about i'll explain it. but you need to get a map for that turbo, it's going to be a little bit of figuring out.. but you can probably push 10 psi on a 9.5:1cr depending on the tune. ive seen 15psi from a t3/t4 on a dd . with the compression of 9.5:1cr. but depending on your tune and the compression it will tell you where you can place it.

    easy read:version

stick it on a dyno and just keep bumping it up the psi and tuning it as you go.

    haha no going boom
i am doing the ecu swap if i get an eprom 1 for a good price and im just gonna sell the t3 t4 2 a buddy that has the cash 4 200 more than i got it for.. i think that going 2 an 18 or 20g in the future will be a better idea
    but thanks for the input
