head lights question?

i was just wondering for all those with cleared head lights when you put them back in did u leave out the blcak rubbe piece that goes around the edge of the light in between the light and the fender? i was wondering this cuz it fell off when i was clearing them out and i told the body shop to put it in and they didnt and now there is a little gap but im not worried about that im worried about water, but insted of using cylicone i used poxy for plastic which hardend like cement. tell me what you think thanks...

u really don't need that rubber. uhm its only purpose is to protect the headlight and the fender from rubbing on eachother. the worst that can happen is u rub off the paint on the fender where the two meet.
