What could it be?

Ok, the sevice engine soon light came on, so i took the car to the shop. The guy came out and said " its something in you cat-converter." Now, about a year or so ago, i took my car to a mitsu dealer and they replaced my cat and pre-cat because it was trippin a code and they said that there was a recall on them anyway. Is it shouldnt be my cats. What else could cause this code to trip? Sometimes the car does act like its starving for fuel, but the pump has been replaced twice in two years. Please help me out.

Note: I do not have the code that was thrown. He had already erased it.

Yeah, thats what i figured. I was hoping that someone might know something. Me and my wife just replaced the intake mani in her car, a 2002 crown vic with the 4.6l, and it was throughing the same code when we took it to NAPA. he told us that we needed to replace the cat and when we took it to the shop, he said that the intake was busted. So i didnt know if it was something like that in this case.
