I'd paint it on the car if you're worrying about cracking, just make sure you mask everything else off really well.

if its off the car right now, i'd just paint it off the car. if you are really worried about the paint cracking, they do make additives to the paint so that it can flex a little bit.

    for factory match rattle can?

I would just fit it and then paint it. It'll take more time for prep and such to make sure everything is masked off, but will probably work better. Love to see pics when its ready. I'm hoping to purchase a trunk lip in the next few months.

i have the smae type of lip on my trunk already and once its on the car it dont move or even bend at all its a pretty hard rubber and shouldnt make the paint crack but i would paint it on the car cause b4 its actually on the car it can bend because it isnt secured 2 anything and will just bend freely ... so paint it on the car take it off and shyt...

just ask the person mixing up the paint for your rattle can that you're painting something flexible and they should take care of you.

then again, the 8g trunk's curve isn't that bad so I wouldn't be surprised if you could just use regular paint and have it not crack.

mount it then paint it. It's really not that hard to mask stuff off.

Try this, use the thick blue tape and when you start masking it off slip the tape under the seems of the lip between the lip and spoiler. and then just use news paper as a mask for everything else.

Looks good mane. However I'd appreciate it more if I hadn't destroyed Superman and 3 Decepticons in an intergalactic battle in the year 2236.
EDIT: Removing your pinstriping would be beneficial to your health. I'd remove my own, but fortunately it doesn't wrap around the back like that.
