Will these rims & tires work?

I don't think so, and I'm assuming they will rub based on all the fitment stuff I've seen in the past, but I wanted to double check.

    Rims are Ruff Racing 931 - 18X8.5 +35 offset

    Tires are 225/40/18

With that offset and being 8.5 wide, they won't work, right?

I would advise against it. Stick with an offset that is between +40 and +50. My personal opinion, I would also say stick with a wheel under x8 - you can get away with x8.5, but not at +35 offset, unless you like the look of the wheel sticking out past your fender and crappy handling.

I took a look at those wheels (Ruff Racing 931). That looks like a wheel designed for rear wheel drive cars like the 350Z or G35.

They would definitely rub in the rear without rolled fenders more than likely even with 225/40-18s.

There are wheels with that design that are not as wide. Check here for similar options: www.superbuytires.com

Hey Dave, on my Sentra, the suggested offset is +35 to +42, why can't the Galant use a +35?

(I have 16x7 215/45-16's +40 or +42 on the Sentra, and I need to roll the back fenders, the tires scrape when I hit bumps.)

No, it can. 215/40-18s would clear 100%, but are skinny on a 8.5" wheel. 00Galantguy has 18x8.5" +35mm Enkei's with 225/40s that rub, he is lowered. They should clear at stock height, but may rub under large bumps, or lots of weight in the back.

It would be best to roll the fenders ofcourse, but they will work. They will stick out a touch though. With 225/40-18s it won't look bad though.

I'm running 235s with a +35 offset on 8 inch wides, and I'm slammed, if she rolls the fenders she should be good.

Thanks so much for the help guys. I think I'll just find some that aren't so wide and have the right offset. A guy is selling these on club3g and I thought I'd try, but I can't roll my fenders I think bc my cyber 2 rear bumper is molded on. I don't really know what would happen if I tried to roll them.

Yours look great though 00galantguy, nice pics.

Where the fenders need be rolled you won't have to worry about affecting your rear bumper. If you look under the rear fender lip and you will see what I mean.

or you can have the body shop trim the lip of the fender.

can't wait to see your ride when you are all done.
