Are you gonna hook it up so that it will start up the OS once you turn on the ignition and then shuts down when you turn off the ignition?

I used to have something like it, it's called the M1-ATX. But now they have the M2-ATX power supply. Check them out in ebay if you don't have them yet.

Are you keeping the HU? My goal is to totally delete the deck. I bought a setup from someone that didn't work, so I have to start from scratch.

Nice. Ill be getting one soon too. I got a friend that owns a custom home and car audio/video company so once i get the screen he's gonna do everything else for me.
do you have to keep a laptop in the car to use it? and how do you click stuff?

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

yes i chose to keep the HU but eliminating it is not hard you need an EQ and run wires between everything

im not using the laptop for the car pc, i have a fully custom built pc that was done for sleepervr4 and tweaked by Roman which is going to be mounted into the floor under the seat

LOL I forgot to update this thread but I have taken pics of a step by step of the screen being molded, I would say that the screen is 70% done and I'm starting the mount for the head unit soon

I'm trying to have this ready for the valley forge meet

    I'll keep you guts posted

You know I gave you a deal on the screen because you said you were going to purchase the rest of the CarPC as well when you came up with the funds...

    What happened?

i actually ended up using old computer parts that i had laying around in the office. btw the screen died few weeks after i got it. the LCD ribbon was torn and the connector was half way dead. I had to get another screen and mold it myself.

so what is the best way to power my screen ?? the screen came with a power wire that has a cig lighter plug on the end of it that had some kinda filter to make sure the power is solid so it wont damage it but i dont have any cig lighter outlet in my car anymore and i dont wanna chop that "filter" off

so what would be my ideal alternative ??

this should be ready by the weekend but only primered but it should be running

It was a mistake but the screen won't fit without taking it out anyway
