Smog Woes

So my G has thrown EGR malfunction codes...anyone have a diagram or something showing where the egr is. I want to pull it off and clean it out....or maybe just buy a new one. I also am going to clean the MAF...I hope this all helps me pass. I am pretty sure my car is running real rich (soot is thick on the rear bumper) but I have no way of fixing that...I dont think. I wonder if I need new plugs. OH and the car is retarded by 2 degrees

If you stand at the passenger side fender and remove the intake piping you should be able to see it below the throttle body, attached to the intake manifold.

Here's an old image I had before my build was put together. That Bronze plate is where the EGR should be even on a stock 64 SOHC intake mani.

FYI, your EGR valve itself may not be to blame, but the EGR solenoid could be malfunctioning. (attached to firewall, follow vacuum hose from EGR valve)

OOH! I think that might be the noise I am hearing...I get a wierd flutter noise and I know exactly where its coming from. I am guessing that is the solenoid. I might clean out the whole system and get a new solenoid. Thanx guys
